On Monday an Italian Soccer Federation tribunal upheld Salernitana's appeal against being handed at 3-0 defeat and a one-point penalty in the Serie A standings for failing to turn up to their fixture at Udinese in December.
The local health authority had banned the team from travelling to Udine for the match because an outbreak of COVID-19 cases within the squad.
As a result of the ruling, the match will have to be rescheduled and Salernitana got back a one point, meaning they now have 13, leaving them still eight points away form the safety zone.
